Minutes from the meeting of members
of the Czech Handel Society, registered association,
on Saturday 16^th November 2024 in Prague.

The members and the committee of the Czech Handel Society, registered association, (hereafter the Society) met to discuss the current situation in the Society after the death of the chairman, Mr. Pavel Polka. Furthermore, they were to discuss the possibility of other suitable activities and further functioning of the company. The present members of the committee believe that the committee should meet in the foreseeable future to discuss the future direction and continuation of the Society. For this purpose, they will try to contact the absent committee member Mrs. Ivana Tomková and the absent secretary Mr. Ivo Šindelář. The present members of the committee also suggested convening a Member Assembly in order to discuss the future direction of the Society. This would be announced in writing and at least one month before the date of the event, in accord the Statutes of the Czech Handel Society (hereafter the Statutes).

At the same time, the members present here, and former member Mr. Jan Kučera, declare that they did not vote for anyone. It was not a Members' Assembly, neither the election of the committee nor of the chairman of the Society took place, but the election will take place at the meeting of the committee and at the convened Member's Assembly, in accordance with the Statutes.

The members gathered here are of the opinion that there is no reason to dissolve the Society now, but it is necessary to look for options in which format the Society could continue. The eventual dissolution can be implemented at any time later, as well as a possible change of the name of the Society - these fundamental decisions cannot be made without a deeper discussion. Generally speaking, we believe that the mission of the Society expressed in Article 3 of the Statutes can be fulfilled even after the death of the chairman Pavel Polka and that it is the task of the committee to find ways to do so and to try to do so.

The expert point of view needed for the society and its further functioning can be realized by the arrival of new members and by contacting other experts and musicians performing Handel's music at any time, even in the future.

We will also continue the traditional activities of the Society, such as the ascent to the memorial mountain Říp and the venison feast on Karlštejn; we will publish the exact dates timely.
