Jiří Janoušek Second Chairman of the Czech Handel Society

At its meeting on March 20^th, 2025, the Committee of the Czech Handel Society (“The Society”), in accordance with the Society’s statutes, co-opted the Society’s full member Jiří Janoušek, Dr.iur.utr., into the committee by the votes of all committee members present. Subsequently, he was also elected the second chairman of the Czech Handel Society, registered association, by the votes of all members present.

More than seven months after the death of the first chairman Pavel Polka on August 16^th, 2024, the committee is complete in the number of five members foreseen by the statutes. The Society also has its statutory body again.

According to Article 5 of the statutes, the chairman represents the Society in relation to state institutions and legal and natural persons.

The term of office of the current committee is for the years 2021–2025 and will therefore end this year.

By electing the chairman, the committee ensured that the body (chairman) that convenes the members' assembly pursuant to Article 6 of the statutes would exist. The newly elected chairman can now convene the members' assembly with the agenda item of the election of the committee this year so that the committee to be elected by the assembly for the term of office 2026–2030 can smoothly continue the work of the existing committee.

The aforementioned necessary, albeit not sufficient, prerequisites for the further activities of the Society are thus met.
