- 'Personal Sculptor' to George Frideric Handel

The lecture will be given by Pavel Polka, Chairman of the Czech Handel Society.

Louis François Roubiliac (1702-1762): bust of the composer George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). Plaster cast of the terracotta model for the 1739 bust at the Royal Castle of Windsor, near London. Height: 83.5 cm. In the Collection of the Czech Handel Society; Prague, Czech Republic. Handel's signature was taken from a document dated 24 February 1750. Adri(a)en Carpentiers (Carpentière, Charpentière; c.1713-1778): sculptor Louis François Roubiliac (1702-1762). Oil painting on canvas, 1762. 125.7 × 100.3 cm. National Portrait Gallery, London, England. Inv.No.: NPG 303 (1870). - Roubiliac is seen modelling, absorbed, a figure of William Shakespeare (1564-1616).
